Track Name: Ceiling Beams and Bloody Knees
With a sudden crash at nine, they put those nails into your arm.
A fear of cars kept you inside, to save yourself from harm.
Still, jealous of the little ones, as they search for every thrill.
You pressed your face into the glass, and watched them tumble down the hill

The fatal wounds he earned, falling fast from high in trees.
Used to bandage up his cuts; wrap his young and bloodied knees.
You joked you’d see him to his end and hear his last rattling breath.
But now you bring him bottles, and a pack of cigarettes.

Oh dear, where did you last see yourself?
In the bedroom? The mirror on your mother’s shelf?
You once climbed atop your house, just to see how far you’ve been.
Saw there was no end in sight, you haven’t been that happy since.

You have a heart of gold, but a spine of brittle glass.
Now caring for your brother, having watched your father pass.
Cause with a bang he’s finished three, and yells he wants another
If you fell upon the stairs, would he help you to recover?

You lost the little girl who found adventure all alone.
And she never once found love, even though she’s now full grown.
I’ve given up on finding her, and it seems that so have you.
Try drowning in the memories, even though they’re sparse and few.

Oh, my dear, it seems you’ve given up on dreams.
Tied them out of reach, high atop the ceiling beams.
You once climbed atop your house, just to see how far you’ve been.
Saw there was no end in sight, you haven’t been that happy since.
